Tsunami East Africa has unveiled a formidable squad ahead of the 40th edition of the prestigious Hong Kong Football Club 10s, with Kenyan heavyweights Kabras Sugar RFC and Menengai Oilers providing a strong backbone to the traveling team.

The tournament, running from April 14–16 in Hong Kong, marks a milestone year as it celebrates its 40th anniversary with an expanded three-day format.

The competition also coincides with the globally celebrated Hong Kong Sevens week, adding to the intensity and global spotlight surrounding the event.

Placed in a competitive Pool A, Tsunami East Africa will battle Tradition YCAC, Froggies Club, and Chennai Bulls Selects in the group stages. The squad blends regional experience with international flair, assembling talent from Kenya and Uganda alongside a few overseas-based players.

Kabras Sugar RFC leads the Kenyan contingent with five players named in the squad, underlining their dominance in the Kenya Cup. George Nyambua headlines the Kabras group, joined by Mugerwa Asuman, Obonyo Alfred Orege, Okoth Walter, and Young Barry Robinson. Their inclusion highlights Kabras’ continued role as a talent factory in East African rugby.

Menengai Oilers have also contributed significantly, with Elkeans Musonye and Samson Bogongo earning selection, reinforcing the Nakuru-based club’s growing influence on the regional stage.

Uganda’s presence is equally notable, with several players including Emong Eliphaz, Joseph Aredo, and Isaac Massanganzira bringing depth and physicality to the side.

The squad is further boosted by international recruits such as Alex Vaaia, Ben Joseph Love, and Panapasa Nasove, adding a global edge to the team’s structure.

With a balanced mix of power, pace, and experience, Tsunami East Africa will be aiming to make a strong statement in Hong Kong as they test themselves against top-tier opposition on one of rugby’s most vibrant stages.
