Despite missing out on Team Kenya’s marathon party for the Paris 2024 Olympics, 2019, New York Marathon winner Joyciline Jepkosgei has backed Kenya for a podium sweep, terming her miss as an opportunity to seek a qualifying time for the next edition in Los Angeles, USA, in 2028.

Speaking after finishing third in the just concluded London Marathon, Jepkosgei has backed defending champion Peris Jepchirchir, Ruth Chepngetich, and former world record holder Brigid Kosgei, Boston marathon champion Hellen Obiri, Rosemary Wanjiru and Sharon Lokedi to deliver the goods for the country in Paris.

“I will be cheering them wherever I am; they are extreme athletes, and I am sure they will sweep the podium and deliver medals to our country.

"All I have to do is work hard and make sure I will be part of the Kenyan team for the next Olympics, she said. Jepkosgei
