Many know him as Inspekta Mwala, a legendary Kenyan actor who has embraced the Akamba accent and made a name for himself in the Kenyan entertainment industry.

But behind the success has been a long journey of growing up with dwarfism, or as he calls it himself, a little person, the challenges that come with it including stigmatisation, and how he made it to the top.

Born in Taita Taveta county as Davis Mwabili, Mwala says it was not easy being different from other kids.

"There was stigmatisation," he recalls.

But he grew up cracking jokes to his friends, and that is he discovered his acting talents. He picked it up in 1994, and he has not looked back since.

"I don't think I would be where I'm if I was born like any other normal person," Mwala adds.

Recently he won medals in England in competitions organised for people with dwarfism. Mwala proudly wears his medals, saying he is an embodiment of resilience and determination.

A veteran actor in the Kenyan entertainment sector, Mwala is a popular figure among millions of Kenyans. He especially made a name for himself on Citizen TV's Inspekta Mwala.

Mwala then joined Radio Citizen where he worked for many years as a comedian.
