Leopards moved to within four points of leaders Gor Mahia with both sides having three games to play following the victory against the relegation-threatened Ulinzi Stars.

“Our strategy is simple: we treat every upcoming fixture like a final. We are not looking at what our rivals are doing, our job is to secure all nine points on offer in our remaining fixtures and make sure we are ready to take advantage of any slip-up at the top. The belief in this camp is massive,” said Ambani.

On the flip side, the defeat left the Ulinzi rooted at 16th place on the log with 32 points, deeply entangling them in a fierce battle to avoid the drop for the first time since promotion in 1998.

Leopards captain Victor Omune said they must go flat out for victory in their final three matches as they hunt down the record champions.

Omune admitted there is no room for errors as the team seek to hoist the KPL title for the first time since 1998.

“Everyone is motivated as we still believe that the league is not gone, we will fight until the last minute as we must win the remaining matches,” said Omune.

“The fans have been pushing us all through the season and we really appreciate, it’s not over yet.”

Leopards face jaded Kakamega Homeboyz this Saturday before a tricky test against high-flying APS Bomet and then close the season against relegation-threatened Bidco United on May 31.
