The baby girl, whose exact age is yet to be established was found at the door step of one of the green grocer kiosk at around 06:45 am.
According to a report at the Chumvini Police station in Njukini , the incident was reported by Judy Kimeshinda, a 34-year-old business lady who found the baby.
Police have taken the infant to Njukini health center for medication and checkups as investigations about the whereabouts of the parents start.
Locals have been requested to report any incidences of missing children or any cases of young mothers abandoning their kids out of pressure from their families.
They noted that cases of children being abandoned has been on the rise lately in the area.
