IEBC announces month-long enhanced voter registration drive in Ol-Kalou

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has announced a month-long enhanced voter registration exercise in Ol-Kalou Constituency ahead of the 2027 General Election.

In a special issue of the Kenya Gazette dated September 14, 2026, the electoral commission said the Enhanced Continuous Voter Registration (ECVR) exercise will run from Monday, September 21 to Tuesday, October 20, 2026.

The exercise will allow eligible Kenyan citizens to register as voters, transfer their registration to another electoral area, update or correct voter registration details, and verify their voter registration status.

According to the gazette notice, the exercise will be conducted at County Assembly Ward level, the Ol-Kalou Constituency Office, designated registration points and other locations approved by the commission.

The IEBC will also provide registration services at Huduma Centres, institutions of higher learning located within the specified electoral areas, as well as the Commission's Customer Experience Centre on the ground floor of Anniversary Towers in Nairobi.

Unlike the regular voter registration process, the ECVR exercise will run daily from Monday to Sunday throughout the registration period.

Eligible Kenyan citizens must have attained the age of 18 years and possess a valid national identity card or a valid Kenyan passport to register.

Registered voters who wish to transfer their registration to another electoral area will be required to present themselves at the IEBC constituency office in their preferred electoral area.

Those seeking to update or correct their voter registration particulars must similarly appear at the IEBC constituency office where they are currently registered.

The commission said registered voters will continue to have the opportunity to verify their details during the exercise.

After the conclusion of the ECVR exercise, regular Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) and revision of the Register of Voters will resume at the Ol-Kalou Constituency Office.

The services will thereafter be offered from Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays, between 8am and 5pm.

The gazette notice, signed by IEBC Chairperson Erastus Edung Ethekon, follows the commission's decision to resume continuous voter registration and roll out enhanced registration in the constituency.

The IEBC has also gazetted the appointment of Njiraini Anthony Muhia as Registration Officer and Kisiero Maurine Chepkoim as Assistant Registration Officer for Ol-Kalou Constituency.
