The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has announced the colours of ballot papers and corresponding ballot box lids to be used in the 2027 General Elections.

In a post on its social media platforms, the electoral commission said each ballot paper colour will correspond with the colour of the lid of its respective ballot box.

The system is intended to make it easier for voters and election officials to identify the six elective positions.

For the Presidential position, the representative colour will be white, while for the Members of the National Assembly, the colour will be Green.

Beige will be used to indicate the Member of County Assembly boxes, with the Senatorial position having yellow ballot paper and lid.

Additionally, for the gubernatorial position, light blue will be the colour for their papers, and the Women Representative boxes will be a shade of purple.

The IEBC  continued to urge Kenyans who are not yet registered as voters to do so at constituency offices and Huduma Centres across the country.

The 2027 General Elections will involve voting for the six elective positions, with each position having a distinct ballot paper and corresponding ballot box lid colour.
