Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga on Friday gifted President
William Ruto a bull as he started his two-day tour of the Nyanza region.
After a warm welcome, Governor Wanga presented the President
with the gift after he had briefly shared a jig with the Kagan Kochia traditional
dancers.
The bull was spray-painted in yellow with the words ‘President’s
Gift’ on one side and ‘Vision Women’ on the other.
During his visit, the Commander-in-Chief commissioned the
Homa Bay Municipal Market and toured the Pier Fish Market in Homa Bay Town.
He termed the market as being “central to our economic
transformation from the bottom,” adding that his administration will endeavor to
work with county governments to grow the sector.
“We congratulate the county government of Homa Bay under
Governor Gladys Wanga for leading the way in demonstrating the need for
national and county governments to work together,” President Ruto wrote on
Twitter.
President Ruto’s tour will see him also visit Kisumu and
Siaya counties where he is expected to launch some more national
development projects.
