Kibera Soccer Women FC Chief Executive Officer Richard Teka has urged the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) to organise more Kenya Women Premier League fixtures at Nyayo and Kasarani Stadiums as a way of instilling morale in teams taking part in the league.

Two FKF WPL fixtures have been scheduled for Saturday at Nyayo Stadium, the first one pitting Ulinzi Starlets and Vihiga Queens from 2PM before the leaders Kenya Police Bullets take on Kibera Soccer Women later from 5PM.

Police are currently leading the log with 42 points, one behind Ulinzi Starlets, as Trinity Starlets, Vihiga Queens and Kibera Soccer Women wrap up the top five with 34, 30 and 28 points in that order.

Speaking to Citizen Digital, Teka, who also doubles up as the chairman for the FKF WPL caucus, urged the fans to throng Nyayo Stadium for the double header as they look forward to making money from gate charges.

“This will be the first time the Women Premier League will be played in Nyayo Stadium and we hope the fans will come at large to support us. The Football Kenya Federation should schedule more fixtures in quality stadiums like what they have done and not only the Premier League but also the National Women Super League which will boost more fans in stadiums and the morale of payers.

“The league is struggling and having these matches played in quality stadium will make the clubs earn some money”

“I’m hereby reiterating what I have told my girls on tomorrow’s match to work hard on the pitch and give us maximum points as we aim to clinch the league this season. Police is a tough side, yes but we don’t fear them, we shall give them the maximum respect they deserve.”

In his part, police Bullets tactician David Vijago expressed confidence on her girls ahead of the mouth watering clash.

“This will be a very nice experience playing on a good surface at Nyayo Stadium, and I believe the fans will be entertained. We are the leaders, and we look forward to cementing our seniority by winning the fixture.
