President William Ruto has accused opposition leaders of
lacking clear policies and a development agenda and only focusing on attacking
the government rather than offering solutions.
The President was in Narok County on Tuesday, where he also
announced a Ksh.500 reduction in the price of fertilizer and pledged to cut the
cost of maize seed by 50 per cent.
President Ruto held a series of political rallies in
Enengetia, Ololulunga, Olposimoru and other areas.
He used the rallies to lash out at his opponents who he
accused of offering no clear direction to Kenyans but empty political rhetoric
with no viable development agenda.
“Wale wengine wote ambao wanajaribu hapo ni watu bure. Si
mnajua hawa watu? Mpango hawana, agenda hawana, maono hawana, sera hawana, hata
akili... Mnawajua?” President Ruto stated.
The Head of State also rallied support for the broad-based
government, saying ODM and UDA supporters will, for the first time in Narok
County, be pulling in the same direction.
“Mnajua hapa Narok tulikuwa tunashindana na Raila Odinga, kura
nusu ODM, kura nusu UDA. Lakini sasa kura yetu si itakuwa mia kwa mia?” He
posed.
To offer relief to farmers who recorded poor returns this
season, the President announced that the price of fertilizer will be reduced by
Ksh.500, while the cost of maize seed will be cut by 50 per cent.
“Nimesema ile mbegu ya kuzalisha mahindi kwa sababu ndio
chakula ya Wakenya. Mbegu ya mwaka huu na mwaka ujao tutapunguza by 50 per
cent, pamoja na mbolea kwa Ksh.500," he remarked.
President Ruto officially opened the modern Ololulunga Market
and launched the construction of a 20-kilometre road linking Ololulunga to
Ewaso Ng’iro.
The President further pledged that roads covering a total of
300 kilometres would be completed across Narok.
