Gusii Stadium is set to see its construction completed by mid-next year.

The Stadium which seeks a new outlook is being modernised into a 14,000- seater Stadium with a FIFA standard pitch.

The project also aims to install an eight-lane running track in the stadium with all the primary structures now set to be completed in nine months as confirmed by the Kisii County Governor Simba Arati.

“We made a request to the President Ruto to improve our Stadium, Gusii. He was gracious enough and gave us KSh.1 billion and the team which is building Talanta Stadium have also moved to Kisii and they are going to give us the Stadium by May.”

Arati also assured that the Stadium will have a better great outlook upon its completion.

“It will be better that Nyayo National Stadium though the capacity will be a bit smaller compared to Nyayo but it will be one of the best stadiums we are putting in place in that region.”

Arati also clarified that the club currently have Afraha and Narok Stadiums as the alternative grounds to carry out team exercise as Gusii Stadium is under construction.

“We have gotten an alternative field to be practicing on and these are the Afraha Stadium and Narok Stadium.”

Upon completion, the Gusii Stadium is expected to host Kenya Premeir Matches among other major sporting activities.
