Gusii Stadium to be ready by mid 2027

Gusii Stadium is set to see its construction completed by mid-next year.
The Stadium which seeks a new outlook is being modernised
into a 14,000- seater Stadium with a FIFA standard pitch.
The project also aims to install an eight-lane running track
in the stadium with all the primary structures now set to be completed in nine
months as confirmed by the Kisii County Governor Simba Arati.
“We made a request to the President Ruto to improve our
Stadium, Gusii. He was gracious enough and gave us KSh.1 billion and the team
which is building Talanta Stadium have also moved to Kisii and they are going
to give us the Stadium by May.”
Arati also assured that the Stadium will have a better great
outlook upon its completion.
“It will be better that Nyayo National Stadium though the
capacity will be a bit smaller compared to Nyayo but it will be one of the best
stadiums we are putting in place in that region.”
Arati also clarified that the club currently have Afraha and
Narok Stadiums as the alternative grounds to carry out team exercise as Gusii
Stadium is under construction.
“We have gotten an alternative field to be practicing on and
these are the Afraha Stadium and Narok Stadium.”
Upon completion, the Gusii Stadium is expected to host Kenya
Premeir Matches among other major sporting activities.
