The Ministry of Gender, Culture and Children Services has released Ksh. 1,783,568,000 to cater for the June and July 2025 Inua Jamii programme for orphans and vulnerable children.

According to, Carren Ageng’o, the Principal Secretary of State Department for Children Service, the disbursement covers stipends payment for June and July 2025.

The PS on Monday said 445,940 orphans and vulnerable children (OVCs) will benefit. Each beneficiary household will receive Ksh. 4,000, representing Ksh.2,000 per month for the two months, through contracted payment service providers.

The ministry notes that the payments had been delayed due to requisite realignment processes.

The CT-OVC Programme aims at streamlining and mainstreaming all child protection programmes and interventions of the government.

“The CT-OVC Programme aims to encourage fostering and retention of orphans and vulnerable children within their families and communities, while promoting their human capital development,” notes Ageng’o.

“Specifically, the programme supports increased enrolment and transition in education, improved health and nutrition outcomes enhanced household food security, and better child protection.”

The announcement comes a month after the Social Services and Senior Citizen Affairs Principal Secretary, Joseph Motari, also confirmed that Ksh. 4.6 billion had been paid to Inua Jamii beneficiaries for June and July.
