Siaya County government has finally declared vacancies in
the positions of the County Executive Committee members (CECMs) for Finance,
Health and Education.
According to a public notice issued by Governor James
Orengo’s office, applications are now open for the positions of County
Executive Committee Members (CECMs) for Finance and Economic Planning, Health
and Sanitation and Education, Youth Affairs, Gender, and Social Services.
The vacancies for the Finance and Education dockets have been
re-advertised after Governor James Orengo’s nominees for those positions George Nying’iro and Grace Agola were recently rejected by the County
Assembly.
The health docket has also been vacant after the tenure of Martin K’Onyango lapsed. The health docket is currently being held in an
acting capacity by the CECM for Water Prof. Jackline Oduol.
Women, Youths, minorities, and Persons Living with
Disabilities (PWDs) are strongly encouraged to apply to ensure regional and
gender inclusivity, and qualified professionals have until June 18, 2026, to
submit their applications, after which shortlisted candidates will subsequently
face public vetting and approval by the Siaya County Assembly before taking
office.
