Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya on Saturday welcomed a delegation of the Linda Mwananchi movement led by Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna ahead of a series of public engagements in the county.
The visit is expected to bring together opposition leaders
and residents for discussions on governance, the economy and issues affecting
livelihoods, as political activity across the country begins to gather momentum
ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Governor Natembeya received the delegation upon its arrival
in Kitale, Trans Nzoia, where the leaders are scheduled to address residents at various
public forums during the Western region tour.
The Linda Mwananchi movement has in recent months
intensified its grassroots engagements across different parts of the country,
positioning itself as a platform to rally support around governance, accountability
and constitutionalism.
Saturday's visit to Trans Nzoia is expected to feature
addresses by Senator Sifuna and other opposition leaders, who are likely to
outline the coalition's position on key national issues, including the cost of
living, the economy and governance.
