Gor Mahia have strengthened their squad in the ongoing mid-season transfer window with the signing of midfielder Jackson Dwang from Posta Rangers on a two-year deal.
The record Kenyan champions confirmed the acquisition in January 2026 as they continue to reinforce key areas ahead of the decisive second half of the season.
Dwang’s arrival is widely viewed as a strategic replacement for dependable midfielder Austin Odhiambo, who completed a move to Lebanese giants Nejmeh SC earlier this week.
Odhiambo’s departure left a creative gap in Gor Mahia’s midfield, and the club believes Dwang’s energy, positional awareness, and growing creativity will help fill that void effectively.
The midfielder’s football journey began on the amateur pitches of Nairobi, where he featured for Kayole Youth. His performances there attracted the attention of former Posta Rangers coach John Kamau, paving the way for his move into professional football with Nzoia Sugar.
At the Sugar Millers, Dwang settled quickly, earning recognition for his discipline and consistency in midfield.
He later joined Posta Rangers, where he emerged as a key figure for the “Mail Men.” His strong work rate, tactical intelligence, and ability to link play made him a dependable presence in the middle of the park.
A brief spell with Bandari FC followed before he returned to Posta Rangers, continuing to deliver composed performances that caught the attention of Gor Mahia’s technical bench.
On the international stage, Dwang represents the South Sudan national team as a central midfielder.
His steady rise at club level earned him a senior international debut on September 8, 2023, during an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Mali, further underlining his growing stature in the game.
Gor Mahia views Dwang’s signing as a timely and calculated addition, blending youthful energy with increasing maturity.
With Odhiambo’s exit now confirmed, the club is confident that Dwang’s creativity and commitment will prove vital as they pursue silverware and maintain their competitive edge in the remainder of the season.
