Gor Mahia got revenge against APS Bomet as a narrow 2-1 win see K'Ogalo go six points clear at the summit of the FKF PL this afternoon at the Green Stadium in Kericho Valley.

Following AFC Leopards' and Shabana FC's stumbles in their games on Saturday, Gor Mahia went into this match looking to extend their lead at the top further as they visited APS Bomet this afternoon in the FKF PL.

Currently sitting at the summit today's win puts the point tally at 43, six clear of second place AFC Leopards who were held at Bandari earlier this weekend with a 0-0 score over at Mbaraki Sports Club.

APS Bomet remain just above the relegation zone in 15th following their narrow loss as they continue to fight to retain their FKF PL status following their promotion last season.

Gor Mahia would sprint into the lead in the seventh minute through Ebenezer Assifuah who capitalised from defensive error to slot past Maxwell Mulili after being played through by Alpha Chris Onyango.

After taking a deserved lead Gor would push for a second as they pressed the APS Bomet backline in their search for a two goal cushion that would see them cruise to victory in Kericho.

K'Ogalo would go into the break ahead and leading the standings by six points with APS Bomet needing a miracle to stiffle the visitors dominance during the game despite the narrow 1-0 advantage.

APS Bomet tactician, Sammy "Pamzo" Omollo , would bring on a trio of substitutes in Dickson Mwangu, Lawrence Kibet and Hansel Ochieng who notably bagged a hattrick in the reverse fixture as he hoped gain another positive result against the record champions

However ten minutes to full time, January signing Jackson Dwang would double the lead for the visitors with an expert finish as the three points looked all but secure at the Green Stadium for K'Ogalo.

Half time substitute Hansel Ochieng would net just two minutes after Gor doubled their lead, setting up a nerve wrecking final five minutes as Gor Mahia would be forced to dig deep for their three points at the Green Stadium in Kericho Valley.

Gor would look to make their lead comfortable during stoppage time as Maxwell Mulili would produce a world class save, keeping the deficit at one goal and providing hope that APS Bomet could snatch a draw late on.

Despite pressure from APS Bomet in the final minutes of the game Gor Mahia would come out 2-1 victors securing three points and going six points clear of the chasing pack in AFC Leopards in the FKF PL table.
