Google has upgraded its Artificial Intelligence (AI) model to Gemini 2.0, an interactive design with enhanced performance and faster response time.

The AI model builds up on the success of Gemini 1.5 which became one of the most popular search features, reaching over 1 billion people.

Gemini 2.0 will support new capabilities such as the ability to generate images and steerable text-to-speech in multiple languages.

Google is also introducing 'Deep Research' a revolutionary leap in AI technology as the new feature will provide advanced reasoning capabilities to become more practical and impactful as a research assistant.

With the new upgrades, Google released an experimental version to gauge how users apply the new features.

"Over the past year, we have continued to make incredible progress in artificial intelligence. Today, we are releasing the first model in the Gemini 2.0 family of models: an experimental version of Gemini 2.0 Flash," Google said.

"It’s our workhorse model with low latency and enhanced performance at the cutting edge of our technology, at scale."

Research prototypes such as Project Astra, Project Mariner, and Jules were also released into the market to explore new possibilities for AI models in automating complex tasks and provide effective solutions.

"These releases are a significant step forward toward our goal to build the world's most helpful personal AI assistant.

They also represent a step towards making our products more agentic; as Gemini gets better and better, it can act on your behalf to get even more done."
