More than 150 construction companies from over 25 countries are set to converge in Nairobi this month, seeking opportunities in Kenya’s construction market, which has a project pipeline valued at $26 billion (about Ksh.3.4 trillion).

The companies will participate in the ninth edition of Big 5 Construct Kenya, scheduled for October 21–23 at the Sarit Expo Centre.

The exhibition will showcase construction materials, equipment, digital technologies and specialist solutions targeting projects in Kenya and the wider East African region.

Kenya’s construction sector grew by 6.8 per cent in 2025 after contracting by 0.7 per cent in 2024, according to the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics Economic Survey 2026.

The country also accounts for 64.4 per cent of East Africa’s identified construction project value, according to Construct Africa.

“Kenya’s substantial project pipeline is creating demand for a broad range of products, expertise and specialist services, opening opportunities for companies looking to expand their presence in East Africa,” said Josine Heijmans, Senior Vice President at dmg events, the organiser.

International exhibitors include Liebherr, Silkcoat Paint Company, GRUPO B&M, Krypton Chemical, Ceramica Cleopatra, MC-Bauchemie and RIB Software. China, Egypt, Germany, Italy and Türkiye will also participate through country pavilions.

Kenyan companies participating include Kohler East Africa, Henkel Kenya, Wood Products Kenya, Elite Tools, King Tiles, Jafree Trader/BTALI and Neuce Paints.

The exhibition will feature solutions across construction equipment, concrete and cement, building finishes, digital construction, HVACR, MEP, intelligent buildings, modular construction, solar and building envelope systems.

A new Big 5 Impact Trail will highlight eco-friendly construction solutions, including resource-efficient technologies and lower-impact building materials.

The event will also feature more than 25 CPD-certified sessions covering architecture and design, project management, technology and innovation, sustainability and contracting.

“Across the three days, professionals will have the opportunity to see solutions first-hand, exchange knowledge with peers and have practical conversations around the projects and requirements driving the market,” Heijmans said.
