The Inspector General of Police David Kimaiyo says a police officer currently being held on suspicion of murder will not be released despite public protests demanding his freedom. In a statement read on his behalf by police spokesperson Zipporah Mboroki, the inspector general also asked Githurai residents who took to the streets for the second day in support of Constable Titus Musila to use constitutional means to channel their grievances over the issue. One person died after he jumped into a pool while escaping officers who were dispersing protestors.
