Menengai Cream Homeboyz team manager Newton Githinji believes that consistency has been the key  to a successful run in Kenya Cup this term.

Homeboyz maintains the third position with 49 points, six points below second-placed KCB RFC and nine points ahead of fourth-placed Resolution Impala Saracens after the 12th round of the league, and Githinji is confident of finishing in a playoff position.

“Being the third in the league does not necessarily add pressure because once the year started, we had our target and that is all we are aiming for –  the playoff position,” Kithinji told Citizen Digital.

“To maintain our spot, we have been very consistent in our play, there will be minor changes in the squad here and there,  and we plan to be better than we have been,” he added.

Over the weekend they demolished Kenya Harlequin 48-03 at the RFUEA grounds along Ngong road, Newton noting the game went as planned.

Homeboyz will face Top Fry Nakuru this weekend at the Railway Club in Nairobi in match round 13.

Though the contest is expected to be tough,  Githinji is alive to the fat they cannot win every match but wants his boys to show a lot of agility, adding that the team will  have a review of their performance at the end of the season.
