General Ogolla's body heads to Siaya for burial

A military plane carrying the body of late Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) General Francis Ogola landed at the Kisumu International Airport on Sunday morning. 

The body of Ogolla is being moved to Siaya County, where a funeral ceremony will be held at the Obama K’Ogello Primary School in Ngi’ya Village. 

After the mass, a procession will lead Ogolla's body to Mor Village, where the General will be laid to rest. 

President William Ruto and other top leaders will be in attendance. 

Ogolla died in a plane crash on Thursday, April 18. 

The CDF, together with 9 army personnel were on an official tour of the North Rift region when the military chopper they had boarded crashed in Sindar, Elgeyo Marakwet County. 

The nine other officers killed in the crash were Brigadier Swale Saidi, Colonel Duncan Keittany, Lieutenant Colonel David Sawe, Major George Benson Magondu, Captain Sora Mohamed, Captain Hillary Litali, Senior Sergeant John Kinyua Mureithi, Sergeant Cliphonce Omondi, and Sergeant Rose Nyawira.
