Police in Gatundu South, Kiambu county have arrested a woman suspected to have been hiring guns for criminals.

Alice Wambui Kimani from Nembu Village in Kiamwangi location was arrested on Saturday night.

She is said to have been hiring guns for robbery activities within Gatundu South and its surroundings.

A Ceska pistol with 15 rounds of ammunition was found in her custody while a magazine (device used to store individual rounds of ammunition) and 84 bullets were recovered at her house.

The woman is in custody at the Gatundu Police Station awaiting arraignment in court.

Area police boss Joseph Tanui said the crackdown for her accomplices is ongoing.
