Gachagua, the DCP party leader, will attend the National Reflections post Labour Day meeting, which will also feature the launch of the Labour Market and Worker Welfare Report 2026.
The event will be held at the Radisson Blu Hotel from 9am.
The forum comes days after the country marked Labour Day on May 1, a date traditionally used by workers’ organisations, employers and the State to take stock of the labour market and industrial relations.
In recent years, Labour Day debates have increasingly centred on the cost of living, wage pressures, youth unemployment and the growing shift of workers into the informal economy, where protections are often weaker and earnings less predictable.
The discussions have also focused on worker welfare issues, including workplace safety, access to social protection, and the impact of a changing economy on jobs and skills.
