Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) leader Rigathi Gachagua says his government will introduce tax incentives for investors who demonstrate the capacity to create jobs if he is elected president.

Gachagua says the incentives would be aimed at attracting more investment into Kenya, while encouraging existing investors to expand their businesses and create employment opportunities.

Speaking in Dallas, Texas, during an engagement with business investors from Kenya and the United States, Gachagua said investors need greater recognition and support from government for their contribution to job creation and economic growth.

“My government will come up with a policy of giving tax incentives to investors, especially those who will demonstrate capacity to create jobs. I’ll want a situation where anybody who creates more than 10 jobs should be known to me personally as President and get some form of recognition,” he said.

He said his administration would maintain closer engagement with investors and introduce incentives for those who create employment opportunities.

Gachagua who is on a tour to the US, has also been promising the Kenyans in the diaspora that if he wins the 2027 presidential election, he would significantly expand Kenyans' participation in national governance.

He cited the diaspora's critical contribution to the economy through remittances, positioning the expatriate community not as distant observers but as essential stakeholders in Kenya's future direction.

He also emphasised that their economic footprint demands a voice in how the country is managed.

"Though you are away from Kenya, you have such a big impact in what happens at home. And therefore you cannot be spectators in the management of the affairs of our country," Gachagua said on Sunday.
