Two years into its run, Rhythm & Brunch has become more than just another weekend escape in Nairobi.

It's evolved into a cultural anchor for a generation rediscovering the golden era of 90s and 2000s R&B, and last Saturday at Ngong Racecourse, the brand celebrated that milestone with characteristic style.

The anniversary edition drew a throng of music lovers, style-conscious revelers and cultural tastemakers dressed to the nines in Old Money Aesthetics, the night's sartorial directive.

From the moment guests arrived, it was clear this wasn't just nostalgia for nostalgia's sake, but a deliberate curation of sound, fashion and experience that's become Rhythm & Brunch's calling card.

DJ Adrian, E The DJ, Nijo and JT The Drone set the sonic foundation, while live performances from Lisa Oduor, Noah, Chemtai Sage and Maokinlay delivered the emotional crescendos that kept energy high throughout the event.

What started two years ago as a straightforward celebration of classic R&B has metamorphosed into something larger: a community-driven platform that's shifted how Nairobi thinks about daytime entertainment. Dickson Matata, co-founder of Rhythm & Brunch, framed the growth candidly.

"Two years ago, we saw an opportunity to create more than just another event," Matata said. "We wanted to build a cultural platform that celebrates great music, connections and elevated experiences. Rhythm & Brunch has become a community because people see themselves in what we've created."

That philosophy shapes every detail, from the music selection to the guest experience.

There's intention behind the programming, professionalism in the production, and authenticity in how the brand engages its audience, a recipe that's clearly resonated with Nairobi's lifestyle scene.

Looking forward, Matata signaled continuity with ambition: "Our focus is on continuing to innovate, raise the standard for lifestyle experiences and build a brand that resonates well beyond Nairobi."
