Four gangsters gunned down in Nairobi

Four suspected gangsters were on Wednesday shot dead by police in Parklands, Nairobi.

Speaking after the incident, Gigiri OCPD Vitalis Otieno said the four suspects were part of a gang that has been terrorising Nairobi residents

He said that the four refused to surrender and instead engaged police officers in a gun battle where they were overpowered.

During the incident, police recovered three pistols and several rounds of ammunition from the suspects.

According to the OCPD, the police received a tip off from members of the public that the four were planning to commit a crime in the area.

“We were tipped off by members of the pubic that the suspects were planning to commit crime in Parklands before we gunned them down. I want to urge Nairobi residents to remain vigilant and share any information that might lead to the arrest of criminals with the police,” said the OCPD.

The bodies of the four suspects have taken to City Mortuary even as police further their investigations into the matter.
