Four people have been arrested in two separate crackdowns targeting second-generation illicit alcohol in Nakuru County.

In the Freehold area of Nakuru East Constituency, police arrested two men and a woman during a security operation that led to the seizure of several cartons of expired alcoholic drinks.

Authorities also recovered counterfeit stickers bearing the logos of the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) and the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS).

“We have nabbed several cartons of second-generation alcohol. I want to warn those engaging in illegal activities that Nakuru is not a place where you should attempt such business," said Nakuru County Commander Samuel Boit.

In a separate operation in Rhonda, another suspect was arrested after officers recovered several litres of chang’aa and ethanol believed to be intended for the illegal alcohol trade.
