Fortune Sacco are preparing to beef up their squad ahead of the new National Super League (NSL) season after losing several key players to clubs in Kenya and Tanzania.

‎‎The NSL side are now expected to enter the transfer market as head coach Vincent Nyaberi looks to fill the gaps created by the departures of some of the team's influential performers.

‎‎Nyaberi confirmed that last season's leading NSL scorer Collins Mwangi has left the club for Tanzanian Premier League outfit Kagera Sugar.

‎‎The departure of Mwangi is a major blow for Fortune Sacco, given his contribution in front of goal during the previous campaign.

‎‎The club has also lost goalkeeper Malvin Nderitu, who has secured a move to Kenyan top-flight side Muranga Seals.

‎‎"We have lost our key players to other clubs, and that forces us to reinforce, especially in the defense." Nyaberi said.

‎‎With the departures leaving significant gaps in the squad, Nyaberi says Fortune Sacco is working on bringing in new players who can help the team remain competitive in the upcoming campaign.

The coach, however, is also encouraged by the team's preparations for the new season.

‎‎Fortune Sacco has already started its pre-season programme, with Nyaberi revealing that the team has been involved in a number of friendly matches as it builds towards the start of the NSL campaign.

‎‎"Our pre-season is going on well, yesterday we wonv3-0 in a tournament organized by the federation. We are using it to prepare for the season even though with some challenges." He added.

‎‎The coach will use the pre-season fixtures to assess his squad, give new players an opportunity to adapt and identify areas that need strengthening before the competitive matches begin.

‎‎With the loss of Mwangi and Nderitu, Fortune Sacco will be hoping its incoming signings can quickly settle into the team and help maintain the club's ambitions in the NSL.
