Fortune Sacco
head coach Vincent Nyaberi is impressed by his side 2-1 win over Kisumu All Stars in a National Super League match at the weekend but is magnanimous to acknowledge
the hard shift his boys had to put in the face of unrelenting opponent.
Speaking to Citizen Digital, Nyaberi
admitted that the encounter proved to be more challenging than expected, noting
that their opponents showed strong determination throughout the game.
“It was not an easy match because they
were fighting for survival and we are also looking for ways to play in the
Premier League,” he said.
Nyaberi revealed that Fortune Sacco were
forced to work until the closing stages of the match to secure the decisive
goal, highlighting the intensity of the contest.
The coach also pointed out that his team
created several scoring opportunities but failed to convert many of them, an
issue he believes must be addressed quickly.
“We have to go back to the drawing board
to work on the finishing. We are creating a lot of chances but converting them
is where we are having a problem,” he reckoned.
With only 10 matches remaining before the
National Super League season reaches its conclusion, Fortune Sacco currently
sit sixth on the table with 49 points. They trail league leaders Migori Youth
by 12 points, leaving little margin for error in their quest to climb into the
promotion positions.
Meanwhile, Nyaberi and his squad will now
shift focus to their upcoming fixtures, knowing that consistent performances
and better finishing could make the difference in their push for promotion as
the season enters its decisive stage.
