Former Vihiga ace Shikangwa unveiled as Simba Queens player

Simba Queens have
confirmed the signing of Jentrix Shikangwa Milimu after agreeing a two-year
deal with the Kenyan international.
The former Vihiga Queens striker has been on free agency
after her long term contract with Turkish side Fatih Karagumruk came to a
premature end.
Shikangwa was unveiled on Tuesday at the club’s headquarters
in Msimbazi, Dar es Salaam where she joins three other Kenyan players including
Corazon Aquino, Topister Situma and Carolyne Rufa who also feature for the
Tanzanian giants.
The 20-year-old will get the chance to play in the second
edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League slated for October 30 to November
13 in Morocco.
In an interview with Citizen Digital, Simba Queens manager
Selemani Makanya said he signing comes on the right time they are gearing up
for the continental showpiece.
“We are very happy for this signing and I am sure it will
boost our quest in the forthcoming CAF Champions league tournament later this
year. I have been following Shikangwa for long and she is a great talented player
who we couldn’t have missed to sign her," Makanya said.
The official said more signings are expected later in the
week with former Eldoret Falcons and Lakatamia FC (Cyprus) defender Ruth
Mukalukho Ingotsi expected to join.
Shikangwa made her national team debut for Kenya during the
2019 Cecafa Women’s Championship held in Tanzania where Starlets won after
beating the hosts 2-0 in the final.
She also helped Vihiga Queens win the Kenyan Women’s Premier
League three times in a row during her stint with the side.
