Former Uriri Member of Parliament Cyprian Omollo is dead

Former Uriri Member of Parliament, Cyprian Ojwang Omollo, has passed on at a Nairobi hospital after a short illness.

According to his cousin Josie Ayieko, the former Member of Parliament died Friday, March 3 at 5:00 am at the Nairobi Hospital where he had been receiving treatment for the past two weeks.

Mr Ojwang served as Uriri Member of Parliament between the year 2007 and 2013 when he lost the seat to the incumbent, John Kobado.

Among leaders who have sent messages of condolences to bereaved family include Mr Ojwang’s successor, John Kobado, former Sony Sugar boss, Paul Odola, and Uriri parliamentary seat aspirant, George Ochola.

The former Uriri Member of Parliament, at his time of death, was serving as a board member of the Sony Sugar Company.

Sony Sugar Company Managing Director, Jane Pamela, in her condolence message, described the deceased as a dedicated and a hard working board member who has served the company diligently.

Mr Ojwang was set to contest for the Uriri Parliamentary seat in the August 8, 2017 polls.
