Former NSSF CEO Anthony Omerikwa takes over NACADA

Dr. Anthony Omerikwa has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (NACADA).

In the handover which was presided over by NACADA Board Chairperson Dr. Stephen Mairori on Wednesday, Dr. Omerikwa took over from acting CEO Prof. John Muteti who assumed office on  May 15, 2023.

Prof. Muteti had taken over from Victor Okioma who retired from the position after serving for a term of five years.

NACADA has announced that Prof. Muteti will now revert back to his substantive position of Director, Policy and Planning at the Authority.

Omerikwa earlier served as NSSF CEO for a period of 7 years. He left NSSF in November 2022, and David Mwangangi was appointed acting CEO.
