The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Leagues and Competitions Committee has taken disciplinary action against four clubs in the Women’s National Super League and Division One following a string of match-related disputes and rule violations.

In the FKF Women NSL, Gene Queens FC has been found guilty of fielding an ineligible player during match No. 112 against Eldoret Falcons FC.

Investigations confirmed that Irene Yego, a registered player of McMillan Queens FC, impersonated Evalyne Ayieta of Gene Queens, using a falsified FKF license.

Following a formal protest by Eldoret Falcons, the match was awarded to them on a 2-0 basis. Yego has been handed a 12-month suspension for impersonation and use of an altered player card.

FKF Division One side, Marafiki FC, has been sanctioned in two separate cases, both from their matchday conduct on March 23, 2025.

In their clash against Bumbani FC, Marafiki fielded Samuel Sichenje Wattang’a under the misleading name.

“Though listed as “Samuel Watiang’a,” the player was already registered with Bungoma Stars FC and had not completed a valid transfer. The match was awarded to Bumbani FC on a 2-0, three points basis. Wattang’a was suspended for 365 days for providing false registration data,” read the FKF Leagues and Competitions Committee statement.

In a related matter, Marafiki FC listed suspended player Justin Okurumi as a substitute against Ruiru Hot Stars FC.

“The Committee established that Okurumi was suspended for violent conduct in a previous match against Congo Boyz FC, a status that had been formally communicated to all clubs. The match was awarded to Ruiru Hot Stars FC on similar terms – 2-0 and three points,” read part of the statement.

Dynamo FC has also faced the federation's wrath after their Division One clash with Kenya Navy FC was abandoned in the 82nd minute following an assault on the center referee by Dynamo players.

The match, played on March 30, 2025, at the NYS Grounds in Mtongwe, was awarded to Kenya Navy on a 2-0 basis, while players Godfrey Murugi, John Mkwiche, and Anthony Obinna were suspended for the rest of the season. Kenya Navy has also been barred from hosting matches at the NYS Grounds due to inadequate matchday security.

On their part, the Committee ordered the match between GFE 105 FC and Zoo FC to be replayed after it declared it unplayed due to venue confusion. The clash, scheduled for May 1, 2025, was to be played at the Kipchoge Keino Stadium but the venue was unavailable due to renovations, and a late change to Eldoret Showgrounds was declined by Zoo FC.

The match will now be replayed, with each side covering its own costs.

However, GFE 105 FC has forfeited their April 12 fixture against Vegpro FC after arriving past the kick-off deadline.

“Despite a rescheduled kick-off time, GFE 105 FC arrived at the venue well past the deadline. The hosts and match officials had already vacated the grounds. The match was awarded to Vegpro FC (2-0, three points) on grounds of forfeiture,” the statement read.
