Worker who killed boss son after being fired arrested

A thirty year old man suspected to have murdered a KPLC manager’s son who was a student at Maseno High school, has been arrested.

According Transmara West DCIO Wafula Masinde, the suspect who is being held at Kilgoris police station in Transmara West, Narok County, was arrested in Kuresoi following after a tip off from the public.

The suspect identified as Hillary Langat, had been working for the Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC), Kilgoris station, as a driver for a month before he was fired by the station manager.

Following the incident, the man is reported to have gone to the station manager’s home in Milimani estate, Kilgoris and stabbed the form one student using a kitchen knife.

The boy succumbed to injuries while being rushed to hospital for treatment.

The incident occurred in March 2018 when the student was on half-term break.
