Father and son killed after grenade explodes inside their house in Marsabit

Two people died on Wednesday after a grenade exploded at Karare area in Saku Constituency, Marsabit County.

The victims, a father and his son, lost their lives inside their house on Wednesday afternoon when the explosive went off.

Marsabit County Police Commander Leonard Kimaiyo confirmed the incident and cautioned residents against tampering with suspicious devices resembling explosives, such as grenades. He urged members of the public to immediately alert the police or security agencies if they come across such objects.

According to police reports, the two died while attempting to dismantle the grenade, which detonated and killed them instantly, also destroying part of their house.

Police officers are working jointly with the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) to conduct further investigations into the incident.
