Family of 5 killed after their car collides with a truck on Mombasa-Nairobi highway

A family of five on Saturday died after the vehicle they were travelling in was involved in a road accident with a truck at Taru area on the Mombasa-Nairobi highway.

Coast regional traffic enforcement officer Peter Maina said the 5am accident occurred after an overtaking trailer heading to Mombasa hit head on the Toyota Voxy which was coming from the opposite direction.

The five; a husband, his wife and their three children, were killed instantly.

Four other people were critically injured and are getting treatment at the Kinango sub-county hospital.
