A 35-year-old man was on Thursday arraigned before a Meru court and charged with masquerading as a legal practitioner.
David Gitau was reportedly arrested two weeks ago at Maua Law Courts where he had been pretending to be a lawyer and even presenting cases.
Appearing before Maua Senior Resident Magistrate Oscar Wanyaga, Mr. Gitau was sentenced to a year and a half in jail without the option of a fine.
The accused had been under probation when his report was delivered in court and his plea for a fine denied.
