European human resource technology company Factorial has partnered with Glovo Kenya to promote the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) and digital workforce management solutions among businesses in the country.
The partnership was highlighted during Glovo Kenya’s inaugural Future of Commerce Summit, which brought together business leaders, entrepreneurs and industry innovators to discuss emerging trends, technologies and strategies shaping the future of commerce.
Factorial used the platform to showcase its Factorial One AI platform, which integrates payroll processing, talent management, employee performance monitoring and workforce analytics to help businesses streamline human resource operations.
The company said its collaboration with Glovo reflects the growing need for technology-driven workforce management as businesses expand their operations and seek more efficient ways of managing employees.
Factorial Partner Manager Fredrick Githendu said East Africa’s expanding commerce sector required more efficient and interconnected systems to manage growing workforces.
“East Africa’s commerce sector is expanding at a pace that demands smarter, faster, and more connected ways of managing people,” Githendu said.
He said the partnership with Glovo and participation in the summit demonstrated Factorial’s commitment to the regional market, adding that businesses investing in their workforce would be better positioned to drive future commercial growth.
Glovo Kenya Country Managing Director Caroline Mutuku said the summit provided a platform for decision-makers to examine changes in retail, logistics and digital trade.
She noted that Glovo’s business in Kenya had grown fourfold over the past four years, while its workforce had increased from 33 to more than 100 employees.
Mutuku said the company's expansion had increased the need for smarter and more efficient approaches to workforce management.
Factorial's participation comes amid growing adoption of digital human resource solutions across African markets, as businesses seek alternatives to manual employee management systems.
The release cites a 2025 Deloitte report indicating that more than 60 per cent of medium-sized enterprises in major African cities have adopted at least one digital HR tool.
It also projects that Africa's payroll software market, valued at $487.3 million in 2026, will grow to $1.66 billion by 2035, representing a compound annual growth rate of 14.6 per cent.
The growth is attributed to increased cloud technology adoption, rising regulatory compliance requirements and the expansion of mobile-first business infrastructure.
Factorial, which is among Europe's highly valued technology companies, recently closed a $150 million Series D funding round that placed its valuation at $2.5 billion.
The company is seeking to expand its presence in African enterprise markets by providing businesses with integrated digital tools for managing their workforce.
