An Eldoret court was on Monday thrown into shock after three siblings, aged 7, 9 and 11, testified against their biological father accused of sexually abusing them.
The children gave their testimony before Eldoret Senior
Resident Magistrate Daniel Sitati at the Eldoret Law courts.
The accused, Daniel Odunga, a former pastor with the Kenya
Assemblies of God (KAG) Church in Vihiga, is facing three counts of defilement
and indecent act with a child contrary to the Sexual Offences Act No. 3 of
2006.
The court heard that the accused allegedly committed the
offences on diverse dates in June 2026 at Kapsit Village, Kesses Sub-County,
Uasin Gishu County.
According to the prosecution, the matter came to light after
one of the minors reported the abuse to a teacher, who alerted colleagues and
reported to the police. The accused was arrested and taken to Naiberi Police
Station.
He denied all the charges. He was denied bond and is being
held at Eldoret GK Remand Prison.
The court ordered that two of the victims be placed under
care at a rescue centre in Eldoret for their safety.
The case was adjourned to September 24, 2026 for further
hearing.
