Eldoret university student attacked in love triangle dies while undergoing treatment

According to a police report, Chris Nyaribo was reported to have succumbed to injuries at around 9.30pm on Friday.

The 23-year-old student is said to have been assaulted within the University of Eldoret compound and the assailant is yet to be identified.

The assault was reported at Ainabtich Police Station vide Ob No. 41 of 26/10/2023.

When officers arrived at the scene, they established that the deceased, who was in company of an unknown fellow female student, was confronted and assaulted and was taken to the university dispensary for medical attention.

Nyaribo was later referred to the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital for further treatment, but succumbed while undergoing treatment.

The body is being preserved at the same facility awaiting a postmortem as investigations proceed.
