Eldoret residents to appeal ruling on water tariffs

Uasin Gishu residents are planning to appeal the Environment and Land court ruling on new water tariff approved by the Water Services Regulatory Board (WASREB) for ELDOWAS.
Addressing the press in Eldoret led by one of the petitioners Kipkorir Menjo, they said it is unfair for the body to increase the water tariff by 300% yet they receive their water via gravity.
Menjo said if implemented, the tariff will paralyse businesses thereby making it impossible for entities to operate.
They have called on the county and national government leadership to urgently intervene or else they will hold demonstrations paralysing activities in Eldoret City.
