Eight students from Siakago Boys High School were Monday charged in court for assaulting and injuring a Form Two student.

The eight learners, four of whom are in Form Four and the rest in Form Three, were presented before Siakago Senior Resident Magistrate Njoki Kahara and charged with causing grievous harm to their fellow student.

They denied the charge and were each released of a bond of Ksh.150,000 with a surety of a similar amount of cash bail of Ksh.75,000.

The Magistrate further directed that those who are above 18 years and are unable to pay the fine to be remanded at Embu GK Prison while the underage learners be remanded at Murang'a Children Remand Home.

The pre-trial was set for October 9, 2023.
