Eight arrested in Eldoret over suspected counterfeit fertiliser

Confirming the incident, Uasin Gishu County Police Commander Wilberforce Sicharani said the impounded fertiliser is currently being held at Ainabkoi Police Station as samples have been taken for testing.

"We nabbed 500 bags of suspected counterfeit fertiliser at Moiben yesterday. We also recovered 4,000 bags at Kabenes and 74 bags at Ziwa Machine," Sicharani said.

On his part, Uasin Gishu County Commissioner Dr. Eddyson Nyale said the fertiliser was destined for Narok.  

"The suspect is a repeat offender and we are pursuing other accomplices to face the law,"  Dr. Nyale added saying the manhunt has been intensified.
