EACC, FBI launch modern interview facility to boost fight against graft

The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), in partnership with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), has launched a modern interview facility aimed at strengthening investigations and boosting the fight against corruption.
The state-of-the-art facility was developed with technical
and financial support from the FBI, the United States Embassy, and the Bureau
of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL).
Speaking during the unveiling, EACC Chief Executive Officer
Abdi Mohamud said lauded the collaborations and thanked the partners, saying
the facility marks a major step in the modernisation of the commission’s
investigative processes.
Mohamud also thanked the
partners for their continued support in promoting ethics, transparency,
accountability, and good governance.
United States Embassy Chargé d’Affaires Susan Burns on her
part, said the facility will directly enhance the commission’s ability to
conduct professional and effective investigations.
“She underscored that the fight against corruption remains a
fundamental pillar of effective law enforcement,” EACC head of Corporate
Communications Stephen Karuga said in a statement.
Likewise, INL Director Maureen Mimnaugh reaffirmed the
agency’s commitment to continued collaboration with the commission, noting that
Kenya’s long-term prosperity is closely linked to the successful delivery of
EACC’s mandate.
