'Duale is a noisemaker,' Gachagua dismisses Health CS over Ol Kalou by-election remarks

Speaking to KTN News on Wednesday, Gachagua questioned why the government dished out billions to woo the people of Ol Kalou, citing that various political figures pitched camp at the constituency during the campaign period. 

He claimed that all Cabinet Secretaries, including Duale, are in government, courtesy of the Mt Kenya region votes which got President Ruto into power. 

"If it was a battle between DCP and Jubilee, then what was the government doing with Ksh.16 billion? Aden Duale is just a noisemaker. He's a fellow who did not even give President Ruto 7,000 votes. He's a Cabinet Secretary courtesy of the mountain people," Duale noted. 

"At every opportunity, he abuses the Kikuyu nation, saying it was a contest between Jubilee and DCP is thinking Kenyans are stupid. If UDA was not part of the process, why were they giving boats, mattresses, gas cylinders, bribing people? Duale should respect Kenyans."

The Former Deputy President hailed the Ol Kalou by-election victory as a win for Kenyans as it proved to the country that nothing will subvert the people's will at the ballot. 

"It's not one win we're celebrating, it's the significance. The people of Ol Kalou, on behalf of Kenyans, have proven to the country that dirty money is nothing," he alleged. 

"People were fearful that he could use money to bribe his way back to the presidency. The fact that the people of Ol Kalou were bribed with Ksh.1.2 billion and they've refused to vote for his candidate."

He noted that Ol Kalou was a warning sign for the 2027 General Election, citing that Kenyans are ready to protect their votes.

"William Ruto will not steal the General Election. We have perfected voter protection in Ol Kalou and we're asking everyone to come to Ol Kalou to benchmark," Gachagua remarked. 

His remarks come as CS Duale recently dismissed Gachagua's DCP victory in Ol Kalou, citing that Kenya Kwanza remains united and well-positioned to take on the opposition in the next General Election.

"The Ol Kalou seat previously belonged to Jubilee after the late MP won it on a Jubilee ticket. So if you are celebrating, you should know you defeated Jubilee, led by Uhuru Kenyatta, who comes from your community," Duale said during an empowerment programme in Lafey Constituency, Mandera County, on July 21, 2026. 

"Do not chest-thump because of one by-election. We have won many by-elections before, and we know this game. We have support in Western, Nyanza, the Coast, North Eastern and across the country."

In the Ol Kalou mini-poll, DCP's Sammy Kamau Ngotho emerged victorious after garnering 35,440 votes, followed by UDA's Samuel Muchina Nyaga, who received 5,450 votes.
