Drama in Mumias West as MP Salasya’s microphone snatched mid-speech

service at the Bukaya Catholic church in Mumias West, Kakamega County came to a
standstill as Mumias East MP Peter Salasya got into a tussle with a man believed
to be a supporter of Kakamega governor Fernandes Baraza.
Tension
started when the Mumias East legislator took to the podium to talk about the
revival of Mumias Sugar Company and reforms in the sugar sector when the unidentified
man emerged from the crowd to snatch the microphone from the MP.
A
war of fists ensued until the police swung into action to restore law and order
to allow the church Harambee to continue as planned.
Mumias
West MP Johnstone Naika was the host of the event, while the speaker
of the National Assembly Moses Wetangula was the chief guest accompanied by Governor
Barasa.
