The win secures their place in the quarter-finals and extends their unbeaten run in the group stage.
Despite the convincing scoreline, the opening set proved a stern test of KPC’s composure. ARS employed a resilient defensive approach, digging out powerful attacks and forcing the Oilers into prolonged rallies. However, KPC’s experience ultimately made the difference.
A timely tactical substitution, coupled with a series of sharp cross-court spikes, broke the deadlock and saw them take the set 25-21.
Having weathered the early pressure, KPC raised their level in the second and third sets. Their service game became decisive, consistently disrupting ARS’s reception and pushing their setters off the net.
This allowed KPC’s middle blockers to dominate at the net, effectively creating a “no-fly zone” with well-organised triple blocks.
By the third set, momentum had fully shifted in KPC’s favour. Their transition play was fluid, with precise ball distribution across both wings and the middle.
ARS struggled to cope with the power and height of KPC’s front line as the Kenyan side comfortably closed out the match with 25-16 and 25-15 wins.
The Oil Queens now turn their focus to the quarter-finals, with their sights firmly set on reclaiming the continental title and securing qualification for the World Club Championships.
