Detectives recover motorcycle allegedly used to ferry gunman in lawyer Kyalo Mbobu murder

Detectives investigating the murder of lawyer Mathew Kyalo Mbobu now say they have recovered the motorcycle allegedly used to ferry the suspected gunman to and from the scene of the fatal shooting.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) said the recovery followed the arrest of three suspects, including Nicholas Lemiso Naula, a boda boda rider suspected of transporting the gunman on the day of the attack.

According to the DCI, Naula told detectives during interrogation that he was riding motorcycle registration number KMGL 516L when Mbobu was shot on September 9, 2025.

Detectives subsequently traced the motorcycle's movements and ownership history before locating it and recovering it.

The motorcycle was taken to the Homicide Offices for further examination, with Naula later positively identifying it as the motorcycle he had used to ferry the suspected gunman.

The recovery adds to the evidence being assembled by investigators following the arrest of the suspected gunman and two boda boda riders.

Detectives have also recovered other motorcycles allegedly linked to the movement of the suspected gunman and the trailing of Mbobu before the shooting.

The DCI said the latest development would help investigators reconstruct the sequence of events leading to the lawyer's killing as they work to establish the circumstances surrounding the murder and identify all those involved.

The investigation remains ongoing.
