The court has granted the prosecution a final adjournment in a case involving a senior Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) officer accused of killing his wife in Roysambu.

The officer, Daniel Macharia, is alleged to have fatally stabbed his wife at their home along Lumumba Drive before later surrendering to police in Naivasha early March, 2026.

Macharia was granted Ksh.5 million bond with two sureties of a similar amount or an alternative cash bail of Ksh.1.5 million.

The matter came up for mention at Makadara law court before lady justice Beatrice Kimemia, where the suspect was present in court.

The prosecution informed the court that the case file has been with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) since April 17, 2026, and requested one week to provide further directions on the case.

The court allowed the request, marking it as the final adjournment.

During the session, the defence led by lawyer Danstan Omari made an application for bail and bond, citing the accused’s medical condition and his willingness to comply with court terms.

The case is scheduled for mention on April 27, 2026, when the prosecution is expected to give its final position.
