A fire broke out at the CT Scan Unit at Kericho County Referral Hospital on Friday evening after a suspected battery fault.
During the incident, the 64-slice CT Scan with its 32 batteries was damaged.

Kericho County Referral Hospital’s officer in charge of Radiology and Imaging, Dr. George Owiti, confirmed the incident, saying that smoke was seen emanating from the CT Scan room and officers rushed to switch off the power and take the necessary measures.
He said one patient who was at the unit was evacuated and no one was hurt during the incident.
